Crafting & recipes
Where the 884 recipes come from and how to farm them.
Getting recipes
You cannot craft anything without owning the recipe first. Recipes come from four places: the PC Shop, which stocks more as each area's Environment Level rises; the main story; the daily shop specials; and sparkling ripples in water, which reset every day and are the cheapest — though entirely random — source.
Crafting
Take the materials to any workbench and craft. You can queue several copies of an item at once if you have the materials. From v2.0.0 the game consumes materials from a storage box placed next to the workbench before it touches your bag — so park a storage box beside every bench.
3D printing: the duplicate button
The leftmost counter in a rebuilt Pokémon Center holds a 3D Printer. Photograph almost any object in the game, switch the photo to Reference mode with Y, and bring it to the printer to duplicate the object. Cost is 1–10 PokéMetal Ingot or 1–5 Rare PokéMetal Ingot depending on how intricate the item is.
This is the intended way to get plant and berry variants you were not given: each save file only grows one random variant of each plant natively, so photograph the rest on a friend's island or a Cloud Island and print them at home. Expansion Pass items cannot be printed without owning the pass.
