Cooking & Mosslax boosts
Meals power up your moves; flavours change what Mosslax gives you.
Powering up moves
After freeing Chef Dente in Rocky Ridges you can cook. Each meal type buffs one move for a limited time, on a separate PP meter: Salad → Leafage, Bread → Cut, Steak → Rock Smash, Soup → Water Gun, Smoothie → Surf and Dive. Cooking with Chef Dente as your partner frequently yields a free second portion.
Feeding Mosslax
Once Mosslax is awake and living in its Gourmet's Offering habitat, its Eat specialty converts food you offer into an area-wide buff, and the dominant flavour decides which. Bitter raises rare-item finds, Dry raises the chance of seeing Lugia and Ho-Oh overhead, Sour improves shop stock and adds a 10% discount, Spicy raises the chance of Pokémon appearing in habitats, and Sweet raises Ancient Artefact finds.
Strength scales with the dish. Berries, drinks and plain vegetables are the weakest tier; simple salads, soups, bread and hamburgers are standard; and elaborate dishes — bread bowls, crouton salads, explosive hamburger steaks, coffee parfait smoothies — give the strongest version of the effect.
