Legendary & Mythical Pokémon
Where each one is, and why they are worth chasing early.
Why they matter
Legendary and Mythical Pokémon live in your towns like anyone else — with their own specialties, homes and desires — but they weigh far more heavily on Environment Level. Raising one Legendary's Comfy Level lifts a whole area's level noticeably faster than raising an ordinary Pokémon's.
Dream Islands
Befriend Drifloon to unlock Dream Islands — a once-a-day trip to a randomised island stocked with rare ore and materials. Starting the trip with a particular doll biases which Legendary can appear: Eevee Doll → Suicune, Pikachu Doll → Raikou, Arcanine Doll → Entei, Dragonite Doll → Mewtwo, Starmie Doll → Phione. It is a bias, not a guarantee.
The rest of the roster
Palette Town holds three build kits, each needing 15 Pokémon and a heavy resource cost: Freezing Chambers (Articuno), Abandoned Power Plant (Zapdos) and Altar of the Flame (Moltres).
Ho-Oh and Lugia fly overhead throughout the game and drop a Rainbow Feather or Silver Feather when they leave. Befriend all three birds to earn the Tidal Bell recipe (5 Rare PokéMetal + 5 Silver Feather); befriend Raikou, Entei and Suicune to earn the Clear Bell (5 Rare PokéMetal + 5 Rainbow Feather). Ring the matching bell as they pass and they will come down.
Kyogre arrives on its own during the Withered Wastelands rain quest. Volcanion joins after Rocky Ridges if you throw a second party — mood back to 100 — and finish it by firing fireworks from a cannon. Mew needs 27 Mysterious Slates, found in shiny ground patches, arranged on the ruins near the Withered Wastelands Pokémon Center to form a Mew picture. Manaphy lives in Bubbly Basin.
